Changing Seasons

When we arrived in Abi Adi on 22nd September the landscape was green and lush and the teff was growing in the fields. Eight months of not very much rainfall later and the surroundings are now dry and barren. Since we came here there have only been occasional showers but the rainy season is now just around the corner. In June, July and August it will rain heavily, and bring the rocky ground back to life. The skies are getting cloudier now and the temperature is getting a bit cooler. It is always interesting to remember that 85% of the water in the Nile first falls on Ethiopia, so that’s a lot of rain!
